Eden Rock evolved from an imaginatively sited house built fifty years ago by Remy DeHaenen, a celebrated local adventurer.

In 1995, the property was bought by an English couple, David & Jane Matthews, who intended, initially, to use it as a holiday home. However, a small bar was operating ... which was kept running ... one thing followed another ... and five years later Eden Rock Hotel was invited to join the prestigious Relais & Chateaux group of distinguished hotels.
